The West Bank Business Association is excited to announce a great opportunity for West Bank Businesses. In partnership with the City of Minneapolis, we will be administering grants for façade improvements in 2013. If you were planning on storefront improvements – now’s the time!

Who can apply for a matching grant?

Building owners and commercial tenants (with property owner’s approval) can apply for a Great Streets façade grant if:

• they are located within an eligible business district (for example, the West Bank) AND
• the improvements are for a commercial business or building, meaning it has a retail or office use.

You can receive up to $7,500 in matching funds to help with façade improvements!

How does it work? 

• Interested businesses should contact the WBBA for complete guidelines and an application form.
• Applications for the 2013 Cycle will be due no later than  April 15, 2013.
• All grants must be matched 1:1, where every grant dollar is matched by one dollar.
• Applications will be reviewed by a panel of community members to determine eligibility.
• Matching grants at a maximum of $7,500 per storefront will awarded -a total of $42,500 is available!
• Funds will be available on a first-come, first served basis.
• Selected eligible applicants will be notified of their project approval no later than May 1, 2013.
• At that point – approved projects may begin!
• This is a reimbursement program. Once a project is done, participating business will submit a project completion form, along with before and after photos.
• Grant dollars are disbursed!
