It’s a critical time for the West Bank community and for our organization.

When the city entertained the idea of development in Lot A / the 16th Avenue lot in back in 2012, the West Bank Business Association was there to help lead an inclusive outreach process. Along with our community partners, we created a channel so that the concerns and needs of the West Bank community could be heard. 

In 2019, when a project for Lot A was announced, the West Bank Business Association was on site to respond with business questions and concerns. We provided historical documents immediately to the powers that be. And we immediately began organizing to make sure the needs of our West Bank community as a whole were addressed.

We were able to do that because our board is comprised of passionate members of this community, because our vision and direction comes directly from the community, and because our staff provides the support we need to carry forward that vision.

This longevity of leadership and commitment is important, especially in times like these – and that includes you.

If you’ve not yet renewed your membership to the West Bank Business Association, we’re asking you do so now. And if you haven’t been to a board meeting or committee meeting lately, we ask you to do that as well. Have your voice be heard!

Our next board meeting is Thursday, August 15th, 3pm, at the Cedar Riverside / West Bank Safety Center. (1601 S 4th St, Minneapolis, MN 55454, F Building.) There will be a Lot A meeting at 2pm prior to the board meeting where businesses can share their thoughts, and where we can work together on our next steps. I hope to see you there.
